About Andrea
Hi, I’m Andrea Nave, LPC, LMHC.
I’m a licensed therapist specializing in anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), ADHD, and parenting. I provide evidence-based therapy for children, teens, and adults throughout Connecticut and New York, helping individuals and families build confidence and take back control from anxiety.
As both a therapist and a mom, I understand how overwhelming anxiety can be—not only for the person experiencing it, but for the entire family. My goal is to provide compassionate, practical care that helps you develop lasting skills, not just temporary relief.
I have completed extensive specialty training in anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and child and adolescent mental health through nationally recognized programs, including the Program for Anxiety and Mood Disorders at Yale Child Study Center, the Anxiety Disorders Center/Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at the Institute of Living, Bellevue Hospital, NYU Child Study Center, the Child/Adolescent Treatment Center (CAT-C), the Institute for Behavior Therapy, and Fordham University’s Compulsive, Obsessive, and Anxiety Program (COAP).
My research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, the Journal of Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders, and Brain Imaging and Behavior.
In addition to therapy, I also offer care navigation services for individuals and families who need guidance understanding treatment options, finding appropriate providers, and determining the next steps in their mental health journey.
Patients often describe my style as direct, down-to-earth, funny, and practical. I believe therapy should feel collaborative and empowering, giving you real-life tools you can use outside of our sessions.
Whether you’re looking for therapy, parent guidance, care navigation, or practical resources through the How to Beat Anxiety blog, I’m glad you’re here. I look forward to helping you or your family take the next step toward a calmer, more confident life.
